Projector Cart
A laptop projector guide with basic information about projectors and screens.
A projector cart is used to accommodate a projector, laptop, and other accessories to make the job of broadcasting a lecture, training session, presentation, or video show a bit easier. This is mainly used in classrooms, home theaters, and in some business settings too.
A projector cart is specifically designed to hold a laptop projector and its accessories in place, with the goal of easier access to transporting the laptop and other accessories around the room. Portable projector carts come in different shapes and sizes, though all are mainly intended for the same uniform use. In addition to the functionality it provides, many enjoy the clutter-free environment that the use of a laptop projector cart creates. No longer will tables and desks be filled with clunky materials, but the cart will ergonomically house these.
There are two kinds of projector cart – one is the mobile or portable projector cart, and then there are non-portable projector carts. Portable projector carts can be transferred from room to room, and they’re ideal for schools with many classrooms or offices where presentations are typically given in more than one room. Most of these kinds of projectors have wheels on their legs, which makes it very easy to transport the equipment through different facilities.
As far as the non-portable projector cart goes, you’re more likely to find these in some of the following settings:
- Home theaters
- Auditoriums in schools
- Corporate board rooms and conference rooms
You’ll usually either get a higher quality projector cart by getting one that can’t move around, or you’ll get a bit of a break when it comes to price.
An overhead projector cart will typically have drawers or racks, which allows for better manageability of your projector and other accessories. Some accessories that people typically store inside these drawers and racks include DVD players, cables and other wiring, remote controls, external hard drives, and speakers. As you can see, most of these are ordinarily bulky items that would require more than one trip to move from one room to another. The convenience of wheeling these all on one cart is exactly what makes the projector cart a popular seller.
Since projector carts are easy to move around, they’re also easy to clean. You’ll want to take basic measures to ensure that your device stays clean, but there’s nothing out of the ordinary required as far as maintenance goes. Some soap and water with a rag usually does the trick.
Sometimes, people opt to go with custom laptop projector carts. Drawers and racks will be made to fit the devices that you have in mind, and there are even custom options as far as design is concerned.
With respect to materials, most projector carts will be made of either plastic, metal, or wood. At the end of the day, any material that will easily accommodate the lightweight transport of the cart and its accessories will be more than enough for owners.
Pricing of a projector cart will really depend on factors like the manufacturer, the size, whether it’s a portable projector cart or not. You’ll probably want to get an adjustable height projector cart, unless you find a fixed height model that you’re certain meets the needs of your room.
What should you expect to pay for a projector cart? There’s a range in prices as there would be with any product, but it’s pretty narrow. A projector cart should run you anywhere between 90 and 300 dollars or so.
At the end of the day, this device is all about convenience. Go with the one that will make your life easiest, as this is an accessory that could last you for decades.
